Meet Margo Account Deletion & Data Retention Summary

How to delete your account in the app

  1. Open the Meet Margo app and sign in.
  2. Tap the Profile tab in the bottom navigation.
  3. Tap "Account Details & Settings".
  4. Scroll to the bottom and tap "Delete Account".
  5. Tap "Delete Account" again to confirm, then confirm once more in the dialog that appears.

Your account and associated data will be scheduled for deletion. Please allow up to 30 days for the process to complete.

How to request data deletion without the app

If you don’t have access to the app or prefer email, contact support@meetmargo.uk with the subject line "Data Deletion Request".

Include the email address associated with your Meet Margo account so we can verify your identity and process your request.

We will respond to your request within 30 days.

What data is deleted

When you request account deletion, the following data is removed from our app systems:

  • Your account credentials and profile information
  • Mortgage preferences and search criteria
  • Saved properties and shortlisted items
  • App usage preferences and settings
  • Any data stored locally on your device by the app

What data may be retained

Some data may be retained after account deletion for legitimate business and legal reasons, including:

  • CRM records – Information in our customer relationship management systems may be retained for regulatory compliance and business record-keeping.
  • Messaging history – In-app conversations (powered by Sendbird) may be retained according to Sendbird’s data retention policies.
  • Third-party API data – Data shared with third-party providers (e.g. Twenty7tec, Firebase, and other partners listed in our Privacy Policy) may be retained by those providers under their own data retention policies.
  • Regulatory records – As an FCA-regulated business, Meet Margo must keep certain records (e.g. mortgage advice, applications, transactions) for minimum periods set by financial regulations.
  • Fraud prevention – Data may be retained where necessary to prevent and detect fraud or financial crime.
  • Legal obligations – Data may be retained where required to comply with legal obligations or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Third-party sign-in providers

Deleting your Meet Margo account does not automatically revoke access from third-party sign-in providers.

To fully disconnect:

Google

  1. Visit your Google Account settings.
  2. Find Meet Margo in the list of third-party apps.
  3. Remove access.

Apple

  1. Open Settings on your Apple device.
  2. Tap your name.
  3. Tap "Sign-In & Security".
  4. Tap "Sign in with Apple".
  5. Find Meet Margo and select "Stop Using Apple ID".

Under data protection law, you have rights including:
